The Farang Bar is a great place to stop for a beers and food whilst in Chumpon. You'll always get a warm welcome, be able to relax and kickback there, great atmosphere, staff & host.

USEFUL INFORMATION UPDATE.
Anyone on a visa-run to Penang, Malaysia, might want to know that the very wise fathers (and mothers) of Penang, have now established a FREE Wi-Fi network covering most of downtown Georgetown and the CBD.
The network is free as long as you have an account with them.
The Farang Bar, Chumphon has established an unsecured but free-of- charge account for any of you to use.
All you need do is 'search for wireless networks',connect to 'Penang Free WiFi' and enter username : farangbar , password : visarun.
After that, you should find that 'Robert becomes the brother of your father'(Bob's yer uncle)...

I've been here several times after a visa-run for a few beers.. Great bar-staff and food.. I dont know the rooms cause i stayed across the road for the night, but the breakfast the next morning was great again..!! I'll returning to thailand next months agin , and I'll be there again after my next visa-runs.. I can recommend this place for sure.

Regretably the Farang Bar will be closed saturday and sunday 29/30 october due to electrical problems. Hoping to be open for business as usual on monday.

The English guy who owns the place with his Thai girlfriend has been in the area for 10 years and is still an active backpacker. He knows the answer to every question on backpacking South-east Asia. He also has links with seemingly everyone on the island of Koh Tao and can help book rooms and diving courses even when everywhere is full.
